Every DIY Campers furniture kit can be supplied flat pack for you to build, or assembled by us. Here's what to expect from each, so you can choose the option that suits your skills, time and budget.
What's in the box
Each kit is a complete kit, not just a set of panels:
- All the CNC-cut panels for the unit, cut in your chosen board and colour
- Cam fixings and screws
- Hinges and catches
- Drawer runners
- Every other accessory needed for assembly
The exact hardware list for each kit is shown on its product page. Knock-on edge trim is available as an option (+£120 per kit, or +£249 for large-van kits) – just choose a “+ Trim” build option. Appliances, sinks, hobs, electrics and plumbing are not included unless stated, so plan those separately.
Building it yourself
Because every panel is CNC cut, parts are made for an accurate fit. Panels are supplied with exposed raw edges straight from the machine, so give them a light sand where needed before you start. If you're comfortable with basic DIY, building a flat pack kit is a very achievable part of a self-build conversion – and a satisfying one.
Before you start, it's worth:
- Checking every part against the hardware list as soon as your kit arrives (let us know about anything damaged or missing within 48 hours)
- Planning where your electrics, water and gas (if any) will run, so you can allow for them before units are fixed in place
- Making sure your finished furniture will be securely fixed to the van – you're responsible for safe installation, and it's worth speaking to your insurer about your conversion
Choosing our assembly service
If you'd rather skip the build, select Assembled on the product page. For £300 per kit (£595 for large-van kits such as Ducato, Crafter and Sprinter) we'll build the units for you, so they arrive ready to fit into your van. It's a good option if you're short on time, space or tools, or you'd simply like the furniture done so you can focus on the rest of the conversion.
Delivery or collection
Flat pack and assembled kits are both made to order, typically in 2–4 weeks. Delivery to mainland England is £195 per kit, or you can collect free of charge from us in Peterborough – bring a vehicle large enough for your kit, especially if it's assembled.
Which is right for you?
- Choose flat pack if you enjoy DIY, want to keep costs down and have space to build.
- Choose assembled if you want the units ready to go and would rather spend your time on other parts of the build.
